I was so lucky to find this wonderful illustration for this card (so sorry for not knowing name of it's author!)! This young mom even looks like mother of newborn Vanya (at least her hairstyle is almost 100% copy of Vanya's mom hairstyle she used to wear as a bride :)) Except for the roses, of course.) I changed the picture a bit - by changing black inking to dark brown and adding few strokes of blue watercolour to the bird. Both was done to make illustration match my selection of patterned papers and ribbons.

With this card I am participating in Friday Sketchers challenge #141. Saw this sketch yesterday in the morning - and with its help finally found design for this newborn card, which had been pending starting from January 24th (!!) when baby was born. Sketch:
I also prepared an envelope for this card. It had always been such a pain - to make envelopes from scratch for my 6 inch square cards... But luckily, when I visited London, I purchased big pack of C5 manila heavy duty envelopes from Ryman's. They are so easy to remake into ideal envelopes for cards of this size (6''x6'')! And I love the way manila paper looks - especially with stamping.

ОтветитьУдалитьСпасибо! Думала я об этой серединке, розетке, пуговки прикладывала, но что-то ничего путного не вышло. Видела, что получается неидеально, но надо было уже заканчивать - мужу отдавать, чтобы он молодому отцу отнес. Они редко видятся. Вообще я с розеткой этой помучилась - оно и видно. Простой бантик из этой чудо-ленты не получается вообше - слишком плотная. Но очень мне хотелось использовать именно ее и медведя :)))
ОтветитьУдалитьКатя, открытка чудесная, и розетка получилась-таки, а мишку - можно было из той ленточки, на которой он висит, с висящим же на ней мишкой, сделать бантик и в центр. Но это так, в теории, просто мысли вслух - делаю детский миник и тоже хочется пристроить подвесочки.
ОтветитьУдалитьДа, я так пыталась его приладить, но что-то пошло не так... Кажется, мне не хотелось, чтобы он собой закрывал толи слово "feet", толи сами пяточки. Вобщем, эта печальная розетка - типичный пример того, как скрапбукер "работал на материалы", а не они на него. Больше так не буду.
